Financials for Spiral Nature January 2018

In the interest of transparency, Spiral Nature Magazine has shared its financials for the past four years we’ve been attempting to make money to pay our writers and editors. You can view the whole history in our financials tag.

In December 2017 we shared that we had a shortfall of $2,285 for the year. That comes directly from our editor-in-chief’s pocket. It’s not sustainable. We welcome suggestions. Any suggestions. Please.

January 2018 we published 2 articles9 reviews4 editions of our weekly astrology column, Hidden Insights, and 7 other items. All in all, we’ve published 22 pieces so far in 2018. All of it freely available to you, dear reader.

Here’s what little money came in, and where our money was spent this month:

January 2018 Spiral Nature Financials

There are so many great things we want to do with Spiral Nature, but with our current losses, it’s simply not possible.

As you can see, we had a shortfall in January, this time of $471. The larger number as compared to previous months is due to the up-front cost of hosting Spiral Nature Magazine for the next two years, and the purchase of a premium plugin to assist with on-site advertising. These expenses won’t occur every month, but others like it do.

This just isn’t sustainable.

That’s where you (hopefully) come in.

Premium membership

We’ve shared our premium membership offer, with access to exclusive members only content, but we haven’t yet had many takers.

We’ve had a few responses lately, and this has been so rewarding to see. Thank you so much to those who have joined. You have no idea how much it means to me and everyone here. Thank you.

What would you like to see in a membership program from Spiral Nature? How much would you be willing to donate to help us out?

Courses

We also shared our awesome courses:

  • Ancestor Work Fundamentals, from Kalagni, a Buddhist ceremonial magician living in Toronto.
  • Crystal Grid Fundamentals, from Susan Starra writer, a shamanic and third-degree Reiki practitioner, and a tarot and oracle card reader.

Just a reminder that half the money goes directly into the pocket of the course creators, the other half goes to Spiral Nature to help us fund the writers and editors who make this magazine possible.

We have a course in development to help you get started with tarot, and another to introduce you to the fae. What else would you like to see from Spiral Nature? Please let us know.

Want to help?

If you don’t have the resources for a premium membership or one of our awesome courses, then consider sharing Spiral Nature Magazine with friends you think would be interested in our content.

Also, please let our writers know how much you appreciate their work in the comments. Virtual pats on the back are always welcome.

Suggestions?

If you have suggestions for other potential avenues for income, or things you’d like to see Spiral Nature doing, please let us know.

We’ll publish our financials each month, and keep you abreast of any suggestions that emerge.

Thanks, as always, for your support!
