Discover Yourself Through Palm Reading: Learning How to Read Yourself and Your Future, Line by Line, by Rita Robinson

It has been over 20 years since I last devoted any time to palmistry. I felt a stronger draw towards Tarot as a method of divination, and a guidance system. Through the intervening years I felt little draw to palmistry, then this book arrived in my mail.
Ms. Robinson devotes a large portion of her work to describing the components of the hands, rather than simply jumping into the meaning of the various lines.
The use of photographs is an advantage, although the contrast on many of them could be better. This would make the markings easier to see. Her illustrations are abundant and clear.
Although I don’t feel ready to start doing palm readings after finishing this book, I did find myself checking out my own palm as I read this book.
It is a very good basic book. It makes the subject much more than appealing than simply a method of “fortune-telling.” It shows how to relate individuals to events in their life; how to determine what an individual’s strengths and weaknesses are; what jobs an individual should consider; what obstacles need to be overcome; etc.
The writing is crisp and clear; the chapters are well organized. Overall, this is an excellent book as an introduction to palmistry.
